04.17.11: If you are having trouble with your Rogers SMCD3GN modem (poor performance or modem stopping), give me a call.
I found a good article with a solution that Rogers doesn't advertise.
I think part of the problem is this modem is also a wireless router and that de-activating the wireless router portion (if you are using your own wireless router) may improve performance and uptime.
The modem change is quite easy and reversible. I made the change, as my modem was stopping and required restart occasionally.
Apparently, this modem's wireless router capability is fairly good, only if the computer is fairly close by, on the same floor, and without any walls between.
