Don't touch while driving

13.10.02: I always wondered if it was illegal to handle your cell phone while in your vehicle.

The Toronto Star article, a few days ago, indicates you can be fined for touching your phone while inside your vehicle even at a stop light.

"The Highway Traffic Act 78.1 (1) prohibits anyone from driving a motor vehicle while holding or using a hand-held wireless communication device, such as a cellphone."

Before touching your phone, park your vehicle or enter private property not patrolled by police.

I wonder when the law will be changed to include touching anything but the steering wheel (changing stations on the radio, etc)...

I wonder when the law will be changed to include drivers talking on bluetooth devices will also be included...
